Getting Started
Get up and running with ProductManager in just a few minutes.
1
Download and Install
Download the ProductManager installer and run it on your Windows computer.
- Download ProductManager-Setup.exe
- Run the installer and follow the prompts
- .NET 8 runtime is included - no separate download needed
- Launch ProductManager from the Start Menu
2
Create a Custom App in Shopify
ProductManager connects to your store using a custom app. Here's how to create one:
- Log in to your Shopify Admin
- Go to Settings > Apps and sales channels
- Click Develop apps (you may need to enable developer access first)
- Click Create an app and give it a name like "ProductManager"
- Go to Configuration and click Configure Admin API scopes
- Enable these scopes:
read_productsandwrite_productsread_inventoryandwrite_inventoryread_locationsread_product_listings
- Click Save, then go to API credentials
- Click Install app to install it on your store
- Copy the Admin API access token (you'll only see this once!)
3
Connect Your Store
Enter your store details and API credentials in ProductManager:
- Click Add Store in the toolbar (or go to File > Manage Stores)
- Enter your store name (just the subdomain, e.g.,
mystorenotmystore.myshopify.com) - Paste your Admin API access token
- Click Test Connection to verify
- Click Save
ProductManager will sync your products from Shopify. This may take a few minutes for large catalogs.
4
The Basic Workflow
ProductManager follows a simple Filter → Select → Edit workflow:
- Filter: Use the search box or advanced filters to find products
- Select: Click to select one product, or Ctrl+Click/Shift+Click for multiple
- Edit: Use inline editing (click a cell) or bulk operations (toolbar buttons)
Changes are saved locally first, then synced back to Shopify when you're ready.
