Installation Notes

HFProductManager is digitally signed with a verified code signing certificate from Certum. New software builds reputation with Microsoft over time as more users install it. During this period, Windows may show security prompts at two stages.

Step 1: Browser Download Warning

Microsoft Edge may warn that the file "isn't commonly downloaded" and show a Delete button instead of keeping the file. To save the installer:

  1. Click the "..." or "Show more" link next to the warning
  2. Select "Keep" or "Keep anyway" from the dropdown

Alternatively, use Chrome or Firefox to download — they are less aggressive with this warning.

Step 2: Windows SmartScreen (when running the installer)

When you run the installer, Windows may show a "Windows protected your PC" dialog:

  1. Click "More info"
  2. Verify the publisher shows "Hoopy Frood Software"
  3. Click "Run anyway"

These warnings disappear as the software gains reputation with Microsoft. They do not indicate a security problem — HFProductManager is digitally signed and verified.
