Collections help customers navigate your store by grouping related products. ProductManager makes it easy to create, edit, and bulk-manage collections without leaving the app.

Collection Types

Manual Collections

You choose exactly which products belong. Products stay in the collection until you remove them.

  • Full control over membership
  • Good for curated selections, featured products, seasonal picks

Smart Collections

Products are added automatically based on rules. Any product matching the rules is included.

  • Automatic maintenance - new products added if they match
  • Good for categories, price ranges, vendor groupings

Opening Collection Manager

  1. Click Collections in the toolbar, or
  2. Go to ToolsCollection Manager

Creating a Manual Collection

  1. In Collection Manager, click New Collection
  2. Enter a title and description
  3. Leave "Smart Collection" unchecked
  4. Optionally add an image
  5. Click Save
  6. Add products using "Add Products" button

Creating a Smart Collection

  1. Click New Collection
  2. Check Smart Collection
  3. Add rules using the rule builder:
    • Product title contains "Summer"
    • Product tag equals "Sale"
    • Price is less than $50
    • Vendor equals "Nike"
  4. Choose All conditions (AND) or Any condition (OR)
  5. Click Save
Smart Collection Tip: Use tags strategically. Tag products with "Featured" and create a smart collection that matches that tag.

Bulk Adding Products to Collections

  1. Select products in the main grid
  2. Right-click and choose Add to Collection, or
  3. Click CollectionsAdd to Collection
  4. Select one or more collections
  5. Click Add

Bulk Removing Products from Collections

  1. Filter products by the collection you want to modify
  2. Select the products to remove
  3. Right-click → Remove from Collection
  4. Confirm the removal

Filtering by Collection

Use the collection filter to see products in specific collections:

  1. Click the collection filter dropdown in the toolbar
  2. Check the collections you want to see
  3. Use "Not in a Collection" to find orphaned products

Editing Collection Details

  1. Open Collection Manager
  2. Select the collection to edit
  3. Click Edit
  4. Update title, description, image, or rules
  5. Click Save

Smart Collection Rules Reference

Field Operators
Product title equals, contains, starts with, ends with
Product tag equals
Product type equals
Vendor equals
Price equals, greater than, less than
Compare at price equals, greater than, less than

Inventory stock equals, greater than, less than

Best Practices

  • Use smart collections for categories that should update automatically
  • Use manual collections for hand-picked or featured products
  • Regularly check "Not in a Collection" to find orphaned products
  • Keep collection titles short and descriptive
  • Add alt text to collection images for SEO
