Product Picker

The Product Picker is a dialog for selecting products when assigning them to collections or performing targeted operations. It provides powerful filtering to help you find exactly the products you need.

When It Appears

The Product Picker opens when you:

  • Add products to a collection
  • Select products for targeted sync
  • Choose products for comparison
  • Assign products to manual collections

Interface Layout

Two-Panel Design

The picker uses a resizable two-panel layout:

Left Panel - Filters:

  • Status filter
  • Vendor filter
  • Product type filter
  • Tag filter
  • Collection filter

Right Panel - Products:

  • Searchable product list
  • Selection checkboxes
  • Product details

Resizing Panels

Drag the splitter between panels to adjust the layout for your needs.

Filtering Products

Status Filter

Filter by publication status:

Status Shows
All All products
Active Published products
Draft Unpublished drafts
Archived Archived products

Vendor Filter

Filter by brand/manufacturer:

  • Dropdown shows all vendors in your catalog
  • Select one vendor to filter
  • Select "All" to show all vendors

Product Type Filter

Filter by category:

  • Dropdown shows all product types
  • Useful for category-based assignments

Tag Filter

Filter by product tags:

  1. Click the tag filter button
  2. Select one or more tags
  3. Products matching ANY selected tag appear

Collection Filter

Filter by collection membership:

Option Shows
All Collections All products regardless of collections
Not in any collection Products without collection assignment
[Specific Collection] Products in that collection

Selecting Products

Individual Selection

  • Click a product row to toggle selection
  • Checkbox indicates selected state

Multi-Select

Action Effect
Ctrl+Click Add/remove single product from selection
Shift+Click Select range of products
Click Select single product (clears others)

Bulk Selection

Button Action
Select All Select all visible (filtered) products
Clear Selection Deselect all products

Toggle Buttons

Quick toggle buttons highlight specific products:

  • Click to toggle filter on/off
  • Visual indicator shows active toggles

Use the search box to find products by:

  • Title (product name)
  • SKU
  • Vendor
  • Handle

Search filters the visible product list in real-time.

Selection Count

The footer shows how many products are currently selected:

Selected: 15 products

This count updates as you select/deselect products.

Confirming Selection

Apply Selection

  1. Select desired products
  2. Click OK or Apply
  3. Products are returned to the calling operation

Cancel

Click Cancel to close without making a selection.

Common Use Cases

Add Products to Collection

  1. Open Collection Manager
  2. Click "Add Products"
  3. Use filters to find products
  4. Select products to add
  5. Click Apply

Select Uncategorized Products

  1. Set Collection filter to "Not in any collection"
  2. Select all visible products
  3. Apply to assign to a collection

Select Products by Vendor

  1. Choose vendor from filter
  2. Select All
  3. Apply for vendor-specific operations

Select High-Value Products

  1. No built-in price filter in picker
  2. Use Advanced Filter first in main grid
  3. Then use bulk operations on filtered selection

Tips

Efficient Selection

  • Use filters to narrow the list first
  • Then use Select All
  • Deselect individual exceptions

Large Catalogs

  • Always filter before selecting
  • Avoid selecting "all products" without filters
  • Use specific criteria

Combining Filters

Filters work together (AND logic):

  • Status = Active AND Vendor = Nike
  • Shows only active Nike products
